Udaipur city is situated 598 meters above sea level in the southern part of the Indian state, Rajasthan. Udaipur was once named by a colonel of the British Raj as the most romantic spot on the continent of India. 1) Udaipur City Palace

The City Palace, located on the banks of Lake Pichola, will give you a glimpse into Rajasthan's princely grandeur with its towering structures built for the erstwhile Mewar ruling family. The interiors are laced with exquisite inlays of mirrors, colored glass, paintings, and murals.  

2) Jagmandir

Jag Mandir is a palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola. It is also called the "Lake Garden Palace".The palace is now operated by the Taj Group and offers captivating views of the Aravalli Hills. This is certainly one of the most romantic locations in the entire state. Jagmandir will draw you with its sheer splendor and tranquility. This is another must-visit during your boat ride.  

3) Saheliyon Ki Bari

Saheliyon Ki Bari or the Garden of the Maidens was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the early years of the 18th century. Maharana Sangram Singh built this for his bride queen and the 48 maids who accompanied her. The beautiful pavilions, fountains, pools and marble elephants add to the royal charm.

4) Maharana Pratap Memorial

Right at the top of the Moti Magri, overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake , is built statue of Udaipur's ode to the famous Rajput king , Maharana Pratap and his beloved horse Chetak, Maharana Pratap, one of the greatest warriors in the history of India, he ruled over Udaipur for about 27 years from 1572 to 1597,the Memorial is built to honor his courage and valor for the Battle of Haldighati.  

5) Eklingji Temple

Eklingji Temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva of the Hindu religion. It is a complex whose foundation dates back to 734 AD. The first temple of the complex was built back then by Bappa Rawal and dedicated to Eklingji. Ek means one while ling means 'lingam or the life-giving a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. This temple is situated at the bank of the Indersagar Lake has near about 108 shrines and comes within its walls.
