Traveling to India
Advisory on Fake Indian e-Visa Portals & to apply for e- Visa from your home country online.
Ministry of Home Affairs is receiving multiple complaints from people who have either been cheated or who have compromised their personal information due to use of fake e-Visa portals.
An advisory has been issued by the Ministry of Tourism that "Government of India does not appoint any authorized agents to apply for e-Visa on behalf of any applicant. Do not fall prey to such fake e-Visa portals claiming to provide Express e-Visa services by charging a hefty amount for the same".
The official website of Government of India for e-Visa and related Visa Services is
www.indianvisaonline.gov.in
Tourists are advised to visit this site and apply for e-Visa and print the confirmation which normally comes with in 48/78hrs and bring along with them to board flight. Valid Passport for more than 6 months, air ticket and e-Visa confirmation is must to board flight to India.
Many tourists assume that Indian Visa is on arrival in India and make arrangements to travel and then come up to airport and return which result in disappointment and loss.
Request to you all to inform tourists to get e-Visa from their home country and then travel. Further guide them to apply for e-Visa on Government of India website and do not get confused with fake portals.
