A typical British legacy, (known as Kala Pani), was a jail constructed in the 19th century to isolate political prisoners.   It comprised 7 wings, radiating from a central tower, designed in a manner to isolate prisoners. 

A court yard gallows for other prisoners to see to warn them as a grim reminder of their impending fate was deliberately created in the prison to psychologically torture the inmates.  The evening spectacular “son et lumiere”, is a must visit. 

Corbyn’s Cove:
