Come September/October every year, the Dasara celebration roars alive in Mysore, with gaiety, fun and frolic which can be witnessed only once in a year. Of course, Mysore as a tourist destination can be visited any time of the year, but the Dasara season is truly special.

Participation of a cavalry and camel contingent adds to depth to the splendid activities. Nearly 50 tabulex take part in the procession apart from 1000 of artists.  Total length of the procession is more than 1 km and the total kms covered is more than 4 kms.

Torch Light Parade

This is another event, which is a novelty of the Dasara celebrations. The parade consists of motorcycle displays in various formations and a torch lit contingent carrying out various drills to thrill the audience is truly awesome. 

As the torch illumination is done in total darkness, the light emanating from the torches gives a mesmerizing feeling and not to speak of special effects that you would normally see on celluloid.  It starts in the evening at around 6.30pm and goes on for 3 hours non stop.

Cultural Events

The city comes to life virtually.
