Agra is the one of the prominent destinations of the World Tourism map with heritage monuments -The Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri . It is more just a dacadent city of graveyards and stones, but it is a vibrant centre of Culture, Art and Religious philosphies that have enriched mankind and shaped humen thought over centuries. Taj Mahal:
Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World stands as a symbol of love. Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife. Taj Mahal is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna. The Taj Mahal is built in Indo - Sarsenic style of architecture. The verses of Holy Koran as inscribed on it and at the top of gate 22 small domes, signifying the number of years the monument took to built.

Agra Fort:
Agra Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Agra. The fort is also known as Lal Qila, Fort Rouge and Red Fort of Agra. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its much more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The great Mughals Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb lived here, and the country was governed from here. It contained the largest state treasury and mint. |

Sikandra:
Sikandra gets its name from Sikander Lodhi. It is four kilometers from Agra. It is the mausoleum of Akbar. Construction of this beautiful monument was started by Akbar himself, it was completed by Jahangir in 1639AD. This structure is a perfect blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain motifs. |

Itmad-UD-Daulah:
Itmad-ud-Daulah is the tomb of Mirza Ghyas Beg, a persian who had obtained service in Akbar Court. The Marvel tomb was made by Emperor Jehangir's Queen, Noorjahan, for her father Mirza Ghyas Beg during 1622-1628 A.D. The craftmanship at Itmad-ud-Daulah foreshadows that of the Taj Mahal. It was here that. "Pietra Dura"-the inlay work on marble-so characteristic of the Taj - was first used. |

Fatehpur Sikri:
Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. Other renowned places are Dewane-e-Am, Dewane-e-Khaas, Buland Darwaja, Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai Palace and Birbal Bhawan. Fatehpur Sikri is about 39 K.M. from Agra.
Radha Swami Samadhi:
Island fortress of Tippu Sultan. Visit Tippu's summer Palace, Gumbaz, and Sri Ranganatha temple.
Chinni Ka Roja:
This was constructed by Afzal Khan, A high official in the court of Shah Jahan. Decorated by glazed tiles on the facade, the structure clearly depicts the Persian influence in architecture.
Mariyam's Tomb:
This uniqe tomb in red sandstone was built in 1611 A.D. a memory of Emperor Akbar's Goan christian wife Mariyam. The tomb has some exceptional carvings. |
