The Travancore Heritage is
one of the most beautiful heritage resorts in Kerala. The main building
housing the reception was originally a 150 years old typical antique
Kerala palace and brings alive the age-old traditional architectural
splendour of the region with its typical timber houses and "Nalukettus" with tiled roofing.
Being dismantled in its hometown and originally rebuilt in combination
with modern designs, the lobby is an image of the majestic Valiyamadam
Palace of the earlier Edapally kings, decorated with fine wood carvings
and beautiful stone masonry at its columns. |

Location:
In
Chowara, 23 km south of Trivandrum airport. The resort is situated on a
120 m high cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea in 15 acres of lush green
coconut garden. The beach below the cliff, also accessible by an
elevator, is maintained by the resort during day time within the
entrance area with beach chairs, umbrellas and a life guard.

Rooms:
There
are 90 rooms with air-condition, tastefully equipped with antique
robust wooden furniture in the traditional Kerala style, satellite TV,
telephone, coffee/tea machine.
The category of rooms we offer:
Heritage Homes:
23 antique wooden cottages spread in the garden complete with a
tiled roof. It is typical that less day light will enter the interior,
as in vintage Travancore the people spent the day outside their homes
within the community. These cottages with 2 - 6 rooms in each unit
overlook the green lawns.
Premium Mansion:
The two building structure houses 20 rooms perched on the edge of
the cliff. The balconies offer an excellent view of the Arabian Sea.
Heritage Premium Cottages:
The 20 independent elegant units have spacious toilets including
garden baths with cold/hot water showers. Also here the interior has
smooth lights, as during day time guests should enjoy the huge garden
with exotic trees and plants from their veranda.

Facilities and services:
Small separate Ayurveda restaurant, where only Ayurveda dishes are
served, "open house" restaurant (multi cuisine and sea food),
overlooking the pool with arches, wooden roof ceiling, some 100 years
old with exquisite decorative work, further more Bar, laundry, Curio
Shop, money change. All common credit cards are accepted.

Features:
Beach down the cliff: A stretch of 200 m is guarded during day time by
the life guards. Beach side restaurant, sunshade, beach chairs, towels,
toilets and fresh water showers are available.
The public beach has a length of nearly 7 km up to Poovar. During the
monsoon (around June - September) the sea can be very rough and the
water level may rise).

Ayurveda treatments:
Keeping the old tradition alive, Travancore Heritage offers Ayurveda
therapies during all seasons, also during monsoon, as in this time the
pores are most sensitive and open. A Rejuvenation Therapy
endows the individual with longevity, memory, intellect, positive
health, youth, and excellent complexion, and voice, strength of sensory
and motor organs. Main aim of this therapy is to maintain the youth of
the individual along with the maintaining of his long life. |
