In
the vedic view of world every human being is an image of the universe,
surrounded by multitude of powers and energies. Vasthu, the oldest
Indian science of architecture, is part of the Indian Vedas, the "books
of science", whose roots trace back to 1.500 BC.
Ayurveda ("ayus +
veda" = life + science) is also an old Indian healing method. The
essence of Ayurveda is a coordinated concept of natural remedies, oil
massages, respiration techniques as well as special nourishment, in
order to harmonize the unbalanced body with oneself.
The property of Indus Valley is built like an Indian temple based on
very strict Vasthu principles, so that the guests can enjoy during
their Ayurveda therapy a pleasant and convenient atmosphere, supported
by positive Vasthu effects.
According to Vasthu sleeping or cooking are subject to different
influences or energies; the morning sun is very much used for
therapeutic purposes whereas the evening sun weakens the body,
geological influences (magnetic fields of the earth) could have an
impact on the blood circulation. Consequently the segmentation of a
property should be equal to a Mandala. |

Location:
Outside of the city of Mysore amidst a coconut grove at the foot of the
scenic Chamundi Hill, not far from the majestic Lalitha Mahal Palace
Hotel, the former guest palace of the Maharajas of Mysore. The Indus
Valley Ayurvedic Centre belongs to the Indus Valley Foundation, a
charitable, not profit orientated foundation.

Rooms:
24 rooms, exquisitely appointed with handcrafted furniture. Some of
them are in the main house. There are also cottages which are scattered
in a well-kept tropical garden. Each room in unique, spacious and
comfortable with bathroom (shower/WC) and has its own character. |

The
Ayurveda treatments are prescribed individually by experienced Ayurveda
doctors who have taught Ayurveda even in Germany, UK and USA. All
treatments are preceded by a prayer. Soothing music is played
throughout the treatments.
